Privacy Policy
What this site collects, which is almost nothing, and why there is no cookie banner.
This site is built to collect as little about you as possible. It is a set of static files: there is no database of visitors, no advertising, and nothing on this site stores or reads information on your device. That is a deliberate design choice, not a formality, and it is why you will never see a cookie consent banner here.
This policy explains the little that does happen. It is written plainly rather than as legal boilerplate, and it is not legal advice.
No cookies, no tracking storage
The site sets no cookies and uses no local storage, session storage or device fingerprinting. Nothing creates a persistent identifier for you or follows you between visits or across other sites. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, the consent requirements that produce cookie banners do not arise.
Analytics
Visitor numbers are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless. It records aggregate, anonymous information about page views and performance. It does not set cookies, does not build a profile of you, and cannot identify you as an individual. There is no way for me to tie a page view back to a person.
Server logs
Like any website, requests reach a content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront) before the pages are served. Standard access logs may record technical details such as the page requested, a timestamp, an approximate region and the type of browser. These are used only to understand traffic in aggregate and to keep the site running and secure. They are not combined with anything that identifies you personally.
The newsletter
If you choose to subscribe to the newsletter, you enter your email address into a form. That address is handled by Brevo, the email provider used to send the newsletter, and is used only to send you the newsletter you asked for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email, which removes your address. Subscribing is entirely optional and nothing subscribes you automatically.
The contact form
If you send a message through a contact form, the details you type are used only to reply to you. They are not added to any marketing list.
Links to other sites
Articles link out to other websites, and some articles embed a video. Video embeds do not load until you click to play them, and only then does the video provider (YouTube, via its no-cookie domain) receive a request. Once you follow a link or play a video, the privacy policy of that other site applies, not this one.
Your choices
Because the site holds no account and no profile for you, there is little to request. If you have subscribed to the newsletter and want your email removed, use the unsubscribe link or get in touch and it will be deleted. If you have any question about this policy, please use the contact page.
Changes
If the way the site handles data ever changes, this page will be updated and the date below will change with it.
